James E. Rand Sr., 79, of 157 Pine Street, Lewiston, died Friday, May 12, 2017, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Employed as a roofer for many years, he enjoyed fishing and playing cards with friends. Survivors include three sons, James Jr. of Oakland, and Danny Sr. and Bobby Sr., both of Lewiston, a brother, Maynard Sr. and wife Joanne of Sabattus, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

RAND, James, 79, of Lewiston, died in Lewiston on Friday, May 12, 2017. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the Upper Cemetery, New Gloucester.

Robert also known as Bob died early Saturday morning 29 Apr 2017 at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME as a result of a motorcycle accident late in the evening on Friday 28 Apr 2017. Bob was born 2 Jul 1948 in Winchendon, MA, son of the late William R. Saveall and Bernadette M. (Turmell) Saveall both of Winchendon, MA. He leaves two brothers, William J. Saveall & wife Judith M. (Burrows) Saveall of Woonsocket, RI and Norman C. Saveall & wife Kathleen A. (Huard) Saveall of Leominster, MA.  He also leaves a son Robert Sean Field & wife Carol Spinelli Field of Plaistow, NH. …

Thomas Sullivan, 1939 - 2017


Thomas F. Sullivan, 78, passed away May 4 at Russell Park Manor, with his loving wife, Angel, by his side. He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 13, 1939, the son of Anthony and Germaine Hamel Sullivan. He is survived by his wife, three children, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

SULLIVAN, Thomas F., 78, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 4. A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Church in Lewiston, followed by prayers at St. Peter's Cemetery Chapel in Lewiston.

Eleanor Boydak Rolerson, 89, formerly of 38 Walker Avenue, Lewiston, and a resident of Schooner Estates in Auburn for the past year, died Monday, May 8, 2017, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Born in Lewiston on March 26, 1928, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Czastska) Boydak. She grew up in New Auburn, and was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of ’47. On July 23, 1949, she married Grover E. Rolerson. Mr. Rolerson passed away on March 21, 2002. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a School Secretary at Farwell Elementary,  Lewiston Junior High, and Montello Junior High schools. …

Marion W. Pinard, 67, of 16 Bowdoinham Road, Sabattus, died Friday, May 5, 2017, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. Born in Lewiston on October 5, 1949, she was the daughter of Irving and June Wagg Wheeler. Educated in Lisbon schools, she was a graduate of Lisbon High School, Class of ’67. On October 22, 1976, she married the love of her life, Leo R. Pinard Jr. For many years, she was employed as a cafeteria worker at Oak Hill High School. Besides time spent with family and friends, she loved to garden and feed the birds around her home in Sabattus. …

Doris M. Picard, 69, of Lewiston, died Monday, April 24, 2017, at the Marshwood Nursing Home in Lewiston, where she had been a resident since September of 2014. Born in Auburn on May 4, 1947, she was the daughter of Armand and Maria Leblanc Picard. Educated locally, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, and worked as an Administrative Assistant at Central Maine Medical Center for many years. She had a beautiful singing voice, was a very talented painter and enjoyed knitting. Doris also thoroughly enjoyed when the family got together, loved being involved in the planning of many family functions, and was always willing to help out with most anything when asked. …

Constance R. (Ferguson) Lemieux, 94, formerly of 10 Orestis Way, Lewiston, passed away at Clover Nursing Home on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, after a period of declining health. Connie was born in Stottville, NY, on February 28, 1923. She was the daughter of Alden and Grace Dunbar Ridgeway. Connie graduated from Hudson High School with the class of 1941. She attended Mildred Elley Business School from 1941 - 1942. Connie left school and returned to her home town to assist her family financially by taking a position as Personal Secretary to the mill's Superintendent. By the mid 1940’s the town's mill closed due to the introduction of the labor union. …

Muriel L. Beaudette, 73, of 67 Begin Terrace in Sabattus, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn. Born in Lewiston on February 4, 1944, she was the daughter of Maurice and Juliette Paradis Turcotte. Educated in local schools, she worked for several area businesses, retiring from Marden’s at the age of 70. She also sold Avon for many years. On April 24, 1970, she married Maurice Beaudette, who passed away on April 8, 2000. Muriel enjoyed time spent with her family, playing cards with friends, and casino trips. …

Yvette G. Aube, 79, of Lewiston, passed away on Good Friday, April 14, 2017, at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in St. Gedeon, Quebec, Canada, on March 5, 1938, the daughter of the late Gedeon and Clementine (Delaire) Poulin. She came to the United States at the age of 6, attended local schools and graduated from Lewiston High School Adult Education in 1984 with her daughter Dee-Dee. She worked in various local shoe factories and retired from Pioneer Plastics in 2000. Mom loved to sing with daddy and their children, dancing, shuffle bowling and she was an active member and the Vice President of the 20M Social Club. …

Joseph Leroy Slattery, 84, of 37 Fair Street, Lewiston, ME, died Friday, April 14, 2017, at his home following a long illness.  Born in Wales, ME on August 14, 1932, he was the son of Edward David and Winifred Maxwell Slattery. He served in the United States Army from 1951 until 1972, including tours in The Korean War, Vietnam War, and in Germany. He received many decorations and awards, including: Five Good Conduct Medals, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and two Overseas Service Bars. After his retirement from The United States Army, he returned to Lewiston and worked as a letter carrier for The United States Postal Service for 27 years. …
