Mary B. Bouchard, 1923 - 2017

Mary B. Bouchard, 93, of 14 Dawn Avenue, Lewiston, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn, following a sudden illness. Born in Lewiston on September 5, 1923, she was the daughter of Bernard and Catherine Harrington Cosgrove. Educated locally, she had a life-long love of learning and was taking courses at the Senior College at USM Lewiston-Auburn right up to this past Fall semester. On March 4, 1946, she married Leo A. Bouchard. Mr. Bouchard passed away on March 31, 1991. After the loss of her husband, she kept her passion and zest for life, living her life her way, on her own, right up until her final illness and hospitalization. …

Robert Carroll Graffam, 44, of Lewiston, passed away after a longtime illness, on Saturday, February 11, 2017, in Lewiston. Born in Lewiston, on February 4, 1973, he was the son of Carroll Robert Graffam and Liane L. Cloutier Micks. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ‘91.  He worked as a Fancy Stitcher in the local shoe industry for many years.  In his younger years, he loved music and cruising around on his dirt bike & 3 wheeler. Normand E. Rocheleau, 1929 - 2017

Normand E. Rocheleau, 87, died peacefully on February 7, 2017 at Mid Coast Senior Health in Brunswick, ME. He was born in Lewiston on February 22, 1929, the son of Fernando and Cora St. Pierre Rocheleau. He attended St. Peter’s School and Bliss College. He was employed as a hotelier for many years, first at the Dewitt Hotel in Lewiston and Thayers Hotel in Littleton, NH. He returned to Maine in 1960 and worked for 27 years with the Sperry and Hutchinson Company (S&H Green Stamps) until his retirement in 1987. He was a long-time member of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club and The Knights of Columbus. …

Minnie H. Pond, 95, formerly of Lewiston, died Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Bolster Heights Residential Care Facility in Auburn, where she had been a resident for the past two years. Born in Gardiner on June 4, 1921, she was the daughter of John C. and Kathleen J. Pratt Malcolm. Educated locally, she worked in the area shoe industry for many years. She had a generous spirit, was always helping others, and was loved by every child who met her. She enjoyed cooking for her loved ones, had boundless energy, and was always busy with one task or another. She will be remembered as a woman who loved her family and her Lord. …

Fernande Rita C. Parent, of Auburn, peacefully fell asleep in the Lord at the age of 95 the evening of Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at d’Youville Pavillion Rehabilitaion Center after a short illness with her beloved son by her side. She was born in Lewiston, Maine, on September 23, 1921 the daughter of Antonio Joseph and Marie Nathalie Aldea (Lemieux) Cloutier. She married Charles Eugene Alcide Parent at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Lewiston, on October 31, 1953. Her beloved husband died on February 3, 1983 at the age of 73. She was educated at Sts Peter & Paul School and began work at 16 in a candy shop. …

Roland L. Sheink, 85, of 238 Litchfield Road, Wales, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn, surrounded by his family and following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lewiston on June 22, 1931, he was the son of Ferdinand and Rose Lacasse Sheink. Educated in local schools, he followed his father into  the family business of building houses, and worked for many years as a general contractor. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking, but his greatest joy came from time spent with his family. …

L. Zita Bolduc, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully at the age of 85, the evening of Friday, February 3, 2017, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, of Auburn, after a long illness surrounded by her family. She was born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, on November 27, 1931, and moved to Augusta, Maine when she was 13 years old with parents Emile J. and Bertha (Albert) Dube and her three brothers. She graduated from Cony High School, Augusta, Maine, in 1951. After graduation she worked for the telephone company as a telephone operator. She married Paul E. Bolduc on June 11, 1955. …

Joan Collins, 88, of Lewiston, one of the original founders of John F. Murphy Homes, died in Auburn on February 3, 2017.  She was born in Waterville, ME, January 31, 1929, the daughter of John and Mabel (Lackedy) Byron.  She was a graduate of Bangor High School and the University of Maine, where she graduated with honors, earning a BA in zoology in 1950.  …

Joseph E. Berube, Jr. 1936 - 2017

Joseph (Joe) Berube, 80, a native of Lewiston, passed away peacefully at his home in Augusta, on Thursday, February 2, 2017. He was born in Lewiston, on May 3, 1936, the son of Joseph and Cecile (Roi) Berube. He attended local schools and at the age of 17 he joined the U.S. Marines. He served for 3 years and was discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He later married Lucille Seguin and they had two children, a boy and a girl. They lived in Connecticut for 15 years, but came back to Maine and settled in Lisbon where he owned and operated a small grocery store for 5 years. …

Roland Poulin, 1927 - 2017

Roland Poulin, 89, of Lewiston, died on January 26, 2017. He was born on September 15, 1927, in Notre Dame DuPays, Canada,  the son of Albert and Josephine Veilleux Poulin. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Drouin, two sons, Jean-Claude, Roger and wife Susan, and three grandchildren. 

Funeral Notice

POULIN, Roland, 89, of Lewiston, died in Lewiston on January 26, 2017. Services will be held Monday, February 6, 11 AM, at Holy Cross Church.
