Rita A. Dubois, 70, of 66 Cassell Street, Lewiston, died Sunday, May 1, 2016, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, following a long illness. Born in Lewiston on February 11, 1946, she was the daughter of Patrick and Albertine Marquis Dubois. Educated in local schools, she worked for many years at General Electric in Auburn. Rita enjoyed crafts and gardening, loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, including visiting her daughter in California and going with her to Las Vegas. She is survived by her son, Bertrand A. Gosselin and wife Tammy of Lewiston, daughter Denise and husband Jeffrey Stanek of Huntington Beach, CA, a brother, Gerald Dubois and wife Diane of North Turner, two sisters, Irene Salvatore of Hartford, CT, and Patricia and husband Leo Gagnon of Turner, two grandchildren, Kayla and husband Nolan Rioux, and Kyle Gosselin and companion Alisha Majkowski, a great-grandson, Ryder Rioux, and her ex-husband, Bertrand R. …

Alfreda G. Paradis, 91, of 102 Campus Avenue, Lewiston, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016, at St. Mary's d'Youville Pavilion.  Born in Lewiston on July 2, 1924, she was the daughter of Adelard and Marianne (Chagnon) Paradis.  She attended Lewiston schools and was employed at Gould & Scammon in Auburn followed by a number of years at Mar-Vac photo in Lewiston. Our aunt Freda was a gentle, thoughtful and unassuming woman who enjoyed spending time with her close friends and family, which included many nieces and nephews. Freda, a long-time resident of Meadowview, spent much of her life caring for her aging parents. …

Patricia E. Chabot, 74, formerly of Blake Street Towers, Apt. 2A, and a resident of d’Youville Pavilion since December, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn. Born in Norwich, CT, on July 10, 1941, she was the daughter of William and Marie Castagna Downing. Educated in Connecticut schools, she raised her family and worked in Connecticut for many years, moving to Maine in 2009 in order to be close to her daughter, Patty. She enjoyed knitting, had an large doll collection, and volunteered as a senior companion. …

Ronald P. Bonenfant, 80, a longtime resident of 426 East Avenue, Lewiston, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn. Born in Keene, NH, on July 14, 1935, he was the son of Lionel O. and Josephine E. (Deslauriers) Bonenfant. His family moved to Lewiston and he graduated from St. Dominic High School, Class of ’53. He served in the U.S. Army, and on May 3, 1958, he married the love of his life, Marguerite Paradis. “Maggie” passed away on June 30, 2014. His first career was as a salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, he later owned and operated Ron’s Shell Service Station in Lewiston, and retired from Hall & Knight. …

Paul Andrew Sturtevant, 61, of Lewiston, Maine, passed away peacefully with his sister at his side on February 24, 2016, at the Hospice House in Auburn. He was born in Lewiston on August 1, 1954, the son of Andrew and Lillian (St. Clair) Sturtevant. He grew up attending Lewiston schools , graduating from Lewiston High School, Class of ’72.  Paul was in sales for most of his career, starting with Tweeter Etc. in Manchester, NH. He loved boating and enjoyed several years of employment with Richardson’s Boat Yard and Marina in Standish. He lived in Wards Cove on Sebago Lake for many years with his then wife, Helena. …

Eugene B. Deslauriers, 90, formerly of 18 Union Street, Sabattus, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the Montello Manor in Lewiston. Born in Lewiston on October 20, 1925, he was the son of Josephat and Yvonne Sylvain Deslauriers. Educated locally, he left high school early in order to enlist in the Navy and serve during World War II. After the war, he returned to Maine and on April 12, 1947, married the former Muriel Scott. He was employed for a while at the Farnsworth Mill in Lisbon, and later went to work as a truck driver for Anthoine Rubber Company in Lewiston. …

 Marie Jeannine Alexander, known to all as simply Jeannine, 77, formerly of Royal Oaks Condos of 15 years, and more recently the Odd Fellows’ and Rebekah’s Home in Auburn, died Friday, April 8, 2016, at Marshwood Center in Lewiston. Born in Frenchville on February 26, 1939, she was the daughter of O’Neil and Annette Morneault Deschaines . Educated locally, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1957. She served in the U.S. Air Force, and following her discharge  lived in Washington, D.C. for over 30 years, where she worked as a denturist at a dental clinic. …

Eleanor T. Frazier Ritchie, of Lewiston, was carried to Heaven by Angels in the early morning hours on Monday, April 11, 2016, with her loving family by her side. She was born to Joseph and Eva (Dutra) Frazier on August 26, 1939, in Middleboro, MA. She married Carroll A. Ritchie in 1956 and together they raised five children, they were married for 34 years. Eleanor worked for many years in the local shoe industry and then at Pineland Center as a caregiver. She also worked as a CNA locally for a time. She dedicated her life to the love and support of her family. She enjoyed playing Skip-Bo and dice and most recently watching Blue Bloods and Judge Judy. …

Paul Labbe, 73, of Livermore, passed away peacefully in Lewiston on Thursday, March 10, 2016, after a long battle with luekemia. Born in Lewiston on July 17, 1942, he was the son of Adrian and Cecile Trembley Labbe. Educated in local schools, Paul was an avid hockey player. He joined the army after graduating high school, and served with the special forces of the 101st Airborne Division. He worked at UPS for 36 years, and retired with 3 million miles and the Safe Driving Award. He leaves behind his wife Dot, of 30 years, a son, Fred Labbe and wife Patty, a daughter, Kelle Labbe, a granddaughter, Gema, whom he adored dearly, stepchildren Dan Tetreault and wife Melissa, Terri Deschaine and husband Ross, a brother, Maurice and his wife Doreen, many grand children, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. …

Theresa I. Leclair, 90, formerly of 15 Stewart Street, Lewiston, died Thursday, April 7, 2016, at the Horizons Living & Rehab Center in Brunswick, following a long illness. Born in Lewiston on January 3, 1926, she was the daughter of Aristrede and Eva Paradis Couture. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’44. On August 25, 1947, she married Armand Leclair. Mr. Leclair passed away on March 21, 2009. She worked for many years as the Office Manager of Steel Service Center in Lewiston. An avid reader, Terry also enjoyed bingo and playing cards with friends. …
