Arlene Hanlon, 86, formerly of 38 Bailey Avenue, Lewiston, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at the Clover Manor in Auburn, where she had been a resident for the past eight years. Born in Auburn on October 14, 1928, she was the daughter of George and Janet McFarlane. Educated in Auburn schools, she was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of ’47. She worked for in the local shoe industry for several years, mostly at Wood & Smith and Shapiro shoe shops, and later worked as a housekeeper for Marshwood Nursing Home and the Holiday Inn. Jeanne Évangeline Rousseau Laliberté, age 93, beloved mother, sister and aunt, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, at Schooner Estates Retirement Community in Auburn. The daughter of Joseph Rousseau and Josephine Bérubé, she was born in Ste-Hélène-de-Kamouraska, PQ, Canada. Jeanne was educated in Lewiston schools. She worked briefly in a local mill and shoe shop before dedicating her life to homemaking for her late husband of 63 years, Raymond, and their only child. Jeanne enjoyed gardening and sewing. She is survived by her daughter, Lucille of Sabattus, a sister, Thérèse Rousseau Goulet of Lewiston, and several nieces and nephews.

Leonel “Leo” Laurier L’Heureux, 72, of Winthrop, formerly of Auburn, passed away peacefully, with his loving wife and family by his side, Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lewiston on April 3, 1943, Leonel was the beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. Laurier and Rita Buteau L’Heureux. Educated in Poland elementary schools, Leo graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of ’61, followed by two separate graduations from the University of Maine in 1965 and 1973, receiving both Baccalaureate and Master’s Degrees in Education with concentrations in Mathematics and Science. …

Richard E. Adams, 66, of 9 Sycamore Drive, Norway, died Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, following a long illness. Born in Portland on March 1, 1949, he was the son of Richard C. and Barbara Johnson Adams. Educated in Maine schools, he went into the Marine Corps in 1967, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his discharge in 1970, he returned to Maine and worked for Scarborough Downs Race Track until 1977, and from 1984 until 1996 he worked at State Wide Cleaning Service in Raymond. On March 1st, 1984, He married the former Patricia McNelly. …

Dorothy Lifshitz passed away peacefully on April 9, 2015 at Bay Square at Yarmouth at the age of 94. Dorothy was born in Lewiston, the eldest child of Ethel and Joseph Lifshitz, and was predeceased by her younger siblings, Sylvia, Harold and Shepard Lee. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Jeff, Donald, David and Larry Lee; Beth, Adam, Cathy and Jonathan Lee. Dorothy lived in Lewiston most of her life and worked in her father’s car dealership in Auburn, Advance Auto Sales. While she struggled with periodic depression, she had her pleasures such as her visits to her sister, Sylvia, in New York City, lunch at the Nanking restaurant in Lewiston with her nephew Jonathan, and visits with her eight nieces and nephews and their children. …

Michael Joseph Bouchard, 65, of 370 Old Greene Road, Lewiston, passed away peacefully April 9, 2015, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice Services in Auburn. He was born December 29, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Gilman and Jean Mavor Bouchard. He attended local schools and graduated from Central Maine Institute in 1969. He went on to college in Nebraska, then joined the US Navy in 1970. He married Susan Westleigh on September 18, 1970, and had two beautiful daughters, Jessica and Dacia. He worked as an optician for many years and opened his own optical shop, Viewpoint Opticians, in 1978 and ran it until he was forced to close it in 2010 due to his health. …

Stanley J. McDonald, 79, of 35 Bergeron Road, Greene, and formerly of the In Town Manor in Lewiston, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Born in Lewiston on June 26, 1935, he was the son of Stanley H. and Ann Stankis McDonald. Educated in local schools, he was employed for several years by the Nezinscot Guild. A member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish, he loved reading, watching TV, going out to eat, and was a huge Elvis Presley fan. He is survived by his friend, caregiver, and shared living provider Katie Kelley of Greene.

Laurent J. Dube, 76, a longtime resident of Lewiston, died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Hospice House with family by his side. He was born in Lewiston on August 14, 1938, the son of Wilfred Dube and Rachel Lamie Dube. He married the former Nancy Veilleux in 1971, and together they raised three daughters. He was educated in Lewiston schools. He joined the U.S. Army in 1961, stationed first at Fort Hood, Texas, then transferred to Florida during the Cuban missile crisis. After his service he returned to Lewiston, where he worked for Libby Mill, Auburn Die for many years, and O’Brien Consolidated. …

Richard H. Grondin, 81, of Lewiston, after a battle with pulmonary fibrosis went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at the Hospice House in Auburn. Born in Lewiston on June 30, 1933, he was the son of Henry P. and Lena M. Rancourt Grondin. Educated in local schools, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1956. He returned to Lewiston, and on June 15, 1957, he married the love of his life, Jeannine L. Morin, in Ss. Peter & Paul Church. He worked for the Lewiston Fire Department from 1961 until his retirement in 1990, and worked as a Certified IMSA tester for the R.B. …

Pauline M. Rodrigue, 73, of Lewiston, died Monday morning, March 23, 2015, at home, surrounded by her family, after a brave battle with cancer. She was born in Lewiston on December 13, 1941, a daughter of Leo and Bernadette Gelinas Fournier. She graduated from St. Dominic High School, Class of ’60, and was a life-long resident of Lewiston. On November 19, 1960, she married Robert A. Rodrigue, also of Lewiston. Together, they had three children, Patricia, Rachel and Geoffrey. Pauline was known as an efficient hard worker, having many careers including bank teller for two local banks, office assistant at W.D. …
