Mildred (Trudy) Ricker, 88, of Lewiston, died Friday, August 29th at the Androscoggin Hospice House surrounded by her family.

Trudy was born on May 11, 1926, the youngest daughter of A.H. and Mildred Chadbourne Johnson. She attended Lewiston Schools and graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of ’43. She was a former member of St. Patrick’s Parish, and volunteered for many years at the St. Vincent De Paul thrift shop.

On September 9, 1950 she married Bernard (Bud) Ricker. They made their home in Lewiston. Trudy worked for many years at the Lewiston Sun-Journal. She was a devoted wife and mother and an exceptional Nana. …

Seymour Tetenman, 77, of Pompano Beach, FL, died Saturday, August 16, 2014, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice Services in Auburn, following a long illness. Born in Lewiston on July 11, 1937, he was the son of Abe and May Fisher Tetenman. Educated in Lynn, MA, he served in the U.S. Army, and was a graduate of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. He worked for many years as a salesman in the shoe industry, and travelled extensively to Europe, South America, Hong Kong and China for work. In later years, he became a licensed massage therapist. …

Thelda K. Dobbins, 100, of 41 Pleasant Street, Auburn, died on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Born in Lisbon Falls, on April 26, 1914, she was the daughter of William and Gertrude Risska Kirschner. She graduated from Lisbon Falls High School in 1930, from the Farmington State Normal School in 1932, and then received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maine Orono. In 1938 she married Lester Dobbins, and they had been married for 62 years at the time of his death in 2000. Thelda taught school in Durham, Sabattus, Monmouth and Lewiston, retiring from Pettingill School in 1973, after a 35 year career. …

Adrian Labbe, 99, of Livermore, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the Hospice House in Auburn. Born in Wallagrass on April 19, 1915, he was the son of Flavie Lauze and August Labbe. He grew up in Wallagrass, being the sixth of twelve siblings. The family moved to Lewiston when he was sixteen. During the war he was a member of the CCC camp, as a truck driver. He spent most of his life as a truck driver. He was extremely capable mechanically and was awarded many recognitions for his mechanical inventions while employed at Bates Mill for 25 years. In 1938 he met and married Cecile Tremblay. …

Marie R. Goding, 90 of Auburn passed into the arms of our Lord on July 30, 2014, at d'Youville Pavilion following a short illness. Born in Lewiston, Maine, on October 30, 1923, she was the daughter of Antoine and Marie-Ange Lacasse Doyon. She was a member of the ACA Club in Lewiston as well as the Auburn Senior Citizens. She attended several local churches. Educated in Lewiston Public Schools, she was the proud mother of nine children, three boys and six girls. She loved raising her children, cooking, traveling, reading her bible, sewing, caring for her numerous plants and visiting with family and friends. …

Gloria Jeanne Murray, 69, of Hotel Road, Auburn, died of pneumonia on Saturday, July 26, at CMMC with her sister and loving John F. Murphy Homes staff at her side.  Born in Lewiston, ME on February 9, 1945, Gloria was the daughter of William P. and Marie Jeanne (Begin) Murray. Gloria was among the first students at Garcelon School in Lewiston and later attended Madison Street School in Auburn.  In 1974 Gloria began attending what is now known at The Social Learning Center. As her parents aged, Gloria moved into the just opened Turner Street JFM Home in 1987.  After breaking her femur, she moved into the Colby Street JFM Home in 2003 and into her final JFM retirement home on Hotel Road in 2010. …

Doralice L. Morin, 1929 - 2014

Doralice L. Morin, 84, of 6 Janelle Street, Lewiston died at her residence on July 17, 2014. Born in Lewiston on August 22, 1929, she was the daughter of Henry and Marie Lacroix Morin. Educated in local schools, she worked for many years in shoe mills, including Weymouth in Lewiston and Auerbach in Brunswick. Survivors include a brother, Robert C. Morin, a sister, Dorothy G. Morin, both of Lewiston, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Roger E. Morin, and a sister, Therese B. Veilleux.

Rita F. “Betty Cody” Binette, 92, of 124 Prospect Avenue, Lewiston, died at her home on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Born in Sherbrooke, P.Q., Canada on August 17, 1921, she was the daughter of Alphonse and Albina Cote, the 6th of 11 children. Her family moved to Auburn where she attended Catholic school. She began yodeling and singing at a young age, and her first appearance was at WCOU Radio in Lewiston at the age of 15. In 1940, she married a musician, Hal “Lone Pine” Breau, and the couple had four sons together. Rita began performing with Lone Pine and in the early 50’s they were signed to RCA, releasing several recordings. …

Marguerite Rosilda Paradis Bonenfant, 78, of 426 East Avenue, Lewiston, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at the Hospice House in Auburn. Born in Lewiston on December 20, 1935, she was the daughter of Ernest and Corilda Lamoureaux Paradis. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of St. Dominic High School, Class of ’54. On May 3, 1958 she married Ronald P. Bonenfant, and they made their home and raised six children in Lewiston. A dedicated homemaker, she also worked for many years in various secretarial positions, and retired as a Patient Service Representative from Medaphis in 2000.   …

Jacqueline Deschenes Therrien, 91 of Lewiston, passed away on Saturday, June 28 with her family by her side. She was born in Lewiston on October 1, 1922, the daughter of Alfred and Leda Deschenes. A life long resident of Lewiston, she started her working career as a welder at the Bath Iron shipyards in South Portland during the 1940's.  She married Robert A Therrien in February of 1947, raised her family in the Ste Croix parish and worked as a fancy stitcher at several manufacturers including Pepperell, Auerbach, and Etonics. She was a devoted wife, mother and memere, who enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with her family. …
