Irene Alma Cote

Life Story

Irene Alma Cote, 85, formerly of Sabattus, ME, and Watertown, CT, died Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Bolster Heights Nursing Home in Auburn, ME. Born in Lewiston, ME, on September 11, 1927, she was the daughter of Emmanuel J. and Malvina Lizotte Cote. Educated in Lewiston schools, she married Raymond E. Cote and they made their home in Watertown, CT. For many years she and her husband owned and operated Ray’s Lunch Basket Restaurant in Watertown. Mr. Cote passed away December 17, 1974. Survivors include two sons, Roger P. Cote and wife Shirley of Oakville, CT, and Norman J. Cote of Venice, FL, and  two special nieces and a special nephew, all three of whom she raised as if they were her own children; Linda Cote of Connecticut, Betty Ann Hershey of Lisbon, and Roger E. Cote of Minot. Also surviving are six sisters, five brothers, three grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a special friend, George Small of Auburn. The family thanks the staffs of CMMC and Bolster Heights for the loving care they gave Irene during her final months.
