Richard A. Lemay

Life Story

Richard A. Lemay, 93, of Lewiston, died Monday, May 28, 2018, at Marshwood Center. He was born in Auburn on October 16, 1924, the son of Henri and Georgianna Pepin Lemay.  Educated in local schools, he married the love of his life, Anne Marie Turcotte, on September 7, 1954. He worked for Shaipro Brothers, General Motors in Connecticut, and Miller Industries in Lisbon Falls,  mostly doing carpentry and plant maintenance. He loved fishing, hunting, traveling, wood working and carpentry. He built three camps, Sabattus Lake, Tacoma Lakes, Moosehead Lakes and a house for his wife in Lewiston. Richard was very proud to be a third degree Knights of Columbus. He was a avid candle pin bowler, he bowled for LASP League for many years, one year winning the Bill Davis Cup for highest single and three strings. Survivors include; his wife of Lewiston, Anne Marie Lemay, two sons, Paul and wife Chun Lemay, and Maurice Lemay, four daughters, Joline and husband Gontron Jean, Angela Reny, Tina Beaucage and Nancy Laverdiere and husband Todd, brother, Larry Lemay, twelve grandchildren, many great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother’s Ronald Lemay, and Thomas Lemay.
