Rolande Y. Lebrun

Life Story

Rolande Y. Lebrun, 90, of 10 Oak Street, Lewiston, died at her home on Saturday, June 23, 2018, surrounded by her family. Born in Lewiston on March 7, 1928, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Alice Bilodeau Garneau. Educated in Lewiston schools, she married Joseph A. A. “Armand” Lebrun on September 11, 1948. A devoted wife and mother, she worked for several years as Certified Nurses Aide at the Marcotte Nursing Home, and later worked as a cook at Bates College. Rolande enjoyed knitting, crochet, camping, and playing cards and bingo with her friends, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her grandchildren. A member of the former St. Joseph’s Church and a Communicant of both Holy Family and Ss. Peter & Paul Basilica, she is survived by her loving husband of Lewiston, three sons, Raynald and wife Linda of Augusta, Leo and wife Priscilla of Lewiston, and Steve and wife Jackie of Greene, three daughters, Mirelle and husband Richard Sutton of Turner, Diane and husband Dana Becvar of Auburn, and Lorraine and husband Orel Desjardins of Bowdoinham, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Theresa Beaulieu. Her family would like to thank everyone at Oak Park, the staff of Androscoggin Home Healthcare & Hospice, and especially her caregiver, granddaughter Megan Becvar, for all the loving care they gave Rolande during her final illness.
