Rose Anna Gagne

Life Story

Rose Anna Gagne, 99, formerly of Sabattus, died peacefully on December 30, 2018 at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn. She was born in Lewiston on September 12, 1919, to Charles and Rosanna Duvel Buteau. She was educated at St. Mary’s School. Rose married her husband, Roger Gagne, in 1944. She worked at St. Mary’s and Campus Cuisine as a cashier and was admired by all of her co-workers, and she was an inspiration to all of them.  She was a member of Ladies of Ste. Anne. Rose was a mother, a living angel who loved all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, treasured all family gatherings, and she enjoyed listening to country music. Rose was blessed with four sons, Normand Gagne and companion Murielle Merchant of Sabattus, Donald Gagne and wife Diane of Poland, Leo and wife Gail of Greene, and Adrien and companion Julie Vadeboncoeur of Sabattus, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a sister, Juliette Buteau. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, and a brother, Charles Buteau Jr.
