Life Story

Auburn- Scott Patrick Swain, 59, of Auburn, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012 at his home. He was born October 23, 1952 in Burlington, Vermont, the son of Loring and Marjorie (Cleveland) Swain.

Scott spent his childhood in Mechanic Falls and Dixfield Maine and was a graduate of Dirigo High School in 1970. He married his beloved wife of 30 years, Tina (Crawford) Swain, on June 27, 1982 in Sabattus Maine.

Scott’s chosen career was truck driving and he loved everything to do with big trucks, even after he wasn’t able to drive any longer due to a back injury. He was an avid musician. He learned to play the clarinet as a child and also the guitar. Scott enjoyed time outdoors, going to camp and was also the go to guy for all of the family’s computer needs. He loved his dogs, Peanut and Shadow. He followed politics closely and was always willing to give his opinion to anyone who would listen about the state of our nation, state and the world.

Most of all, he loved his family and cherished the time he could spend with them.

Scott is survived by his Mother, Marjorie (Cleveland) Swain of Woodstock Vermont, and his wife, Tina (Crawford) Swain of Auburn Maine. He is also survived by his children, Jennifer (Swain) Higgins of Orlando, Florida, Stacy Swain of Michigan, Mandy Swain of Michigan, April Capalbo of Auburn, Maine, David Chabe of Buckfield, Maine, and Jason Chabe of Auburn, Maine. Scott was blessed to have 17 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.

Scott will be missed by many and his departure leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of so many that only our loving God can fill.
