Therese R. Goulet

Life Story

Therese Roy Goulet, 91, of Auburn has gone to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 26, 2018.  She was a resident of the Chapman House in Auburn, died at the Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn, with her loving family by her side. Born in Lewiston on January 3, 1927, she was the daughter of Algueric and Aldea Gauthier Roy. Educated in Auburn, she went to work with her mother in the family business, Roy’s Beauty Salon in New Auburn. She was the second of three generations working at the family business. On September 29, 1951, she married Raymond J. Goulet and was co-owner of Turgeon’s Inc. with her husband. Terry was a devoted wife and mother, and loved cooking, knitting and sewing for her family and friends. Mr. Goulet passed away on September 2, 1978. She retired at age 78, however, soon returned to help her daughter. She also enjoyed playing the piano, bingo, and was always ready for a trip to the Casino with her buddy Bobby. A member of Prince of Peace Parish, a former member of St. Louis Church, she also belonged to the New Auburn Senior Citizens. Survivors include two sons, Ron and wife Jaye of Lewiston, and Bert and wife Linda of Lewiston, a daughter, Elaine and husband Ron Biron of Lewiston, and six grandchildren; Celeste and her significant other John Torrey, and Tony Carrier and his significant other Bekah McIntyre, and Raymond, John, and Jason Goulet and Michael Goulet and significant other Kayla Begin. She also leaves two step-grandchildren, Joseph and wife Ellie Biron and Maria Biron Pete and husband Paul, six step-great-grandchildren, Makayla and husband John Willey, Alissa Pete, Autumn Witham, Joelle, Leah, and Jenna Biron, and step-great-great-granddaughter Kinsley Anne Willey.  Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Raymond R. Goulet, two brothers, Roland and Bert Roy, and two sisters, Lucille Houle and Yvette Madore Deschesne.
